Research Interests

My cur­rent research that focus­es the oper­at­ing prin­ci­ples of neu­rons cov­er two areas:

  1. Synap­tic inte­gra­tion, Dis­charge pat­tern­ing, and Spike con­duc­tion. I inves­ti­gate using ana­lyt­i­cal meth­ods how the mor­pho­log­i­cal and elec­tri­cal prop­er­ties of the mem­brane shape the inte­gra­tive and fir­ing prop­er­ties of neu­rons. My recent works in this field clar­i­fy the impact of mem­brane het­ero­geneities on the oper­a­tion of neu­rons
  2. Inte­gra­tive prop­er­ties of motoneu­rons and Spinal phys­i­ol­o­gy. In col­lab­o­ra­tion with the elec­tro­phys­i­ol­o­gists of the lab­o­ra­to­ry I study how lum­bar motoneu­rons inte­grate incom­ing synap­tic inputs and how pro­pri­o­cep­tive infor­ma­tion is fil­tered and used in the spinal cord to con­trol move­ments. My most recent work in this field deals with shunt­ing inhi­bi­tion of motoneu­rons.
